He attended University of California at Riverside for his undergraduate degree, and then University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) for his graduate degree. He interned in General Surgery at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA, and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at State University of New York (Health Sciences Center) at Stony Brook, New York.
